Is your job giving you blisters?

I’ve been thinking about shoes a lot recently (well, most of the time if I’m honest….) and when I read an article by psychiatrist Edward Hallowell about how to tell if your job is a good fit it made me wonder whether people would wear their job every day if it was a pair of shoes?

Do you look forward to putting your job shoes on every day?

Do your job shoes let you do what you enjoy doing and what you’re best at? Or,  are they rubbing in all the wrong places,  outdated, too tight, worn out, or just really difficult to walk in?

Do you feel a million dollars in your job shoes, or do you just wear them because they’re comfortable and practical and you don’t need to think about them?

If your job just doesn’t excite you any more or feels like it was custom made for someone else it’s a sign that you need to take some action and create a better fit. Start thinking about what you can do about it today  – before it gives you more than blisters….

“Between saying and doing, many a pair of shoes is worn out.” – Iris Murdoch
